Welcome back! I hope that you have enjoyed a fun-filled summer and have had plenty of time with family and good friends.
Year 9 is an exciting place to be! For the first time, you’ve been able to make your own decisions about the subjects you wish to study. It is important now that you show real determination to make your choices work. Class work and home work will step up a notch and you will need to be organised and hard-working to get the most out of your subjects. The rewards for your efforts will be great!
As ever, I hope that you will take every opportunity to get involved with all things extra-curricular, whether in-school or out. Time and time again, we see that the healthiest and most motivated students are those who join a band, play on a sports team, get involved in charity work, join CCF, dance, act, sing, cook, or who do anything else not on the GCSE curriculum.. It doesn’t really matter what you do, as long as you enjoy the experience and make new friends as you go. You may surprise yourself with skills you didn’t even realise that you had.
Whatever you do, I am really looking forward to another great year with a fantastic year group.
