We seek to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and energetic Teacher of Geography to join our hard-working and successful department at Manor CE Academy. The ideal candidate will be focused on high-quality teaching in Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4 and have a passion for working with young people. The successful candidate will be:
The Geography Department
There are two other full-time teachers in the Geography department: a Subject Lead and a Head of Year.
We currently have three Geography classrooms equipped with whiteboards and projectors. All pupils across the Academy have iPads and access to an electronic version of the new OUP GCSE textbook.
Key Stage 3 runs throughout Years 7 and 8. We cover a wide range of human and physical Geography topics, designed to support the new GCSE specification.
For Key Stage 4 we cover the new AQA specification from Years 9-11. All pupils are required to take Geography or History at GCSE. Each year we undertake three field trips: a Maybeck river study and a York urban transect as compulsory day trips, and an optional residential trip to Italy.
Examination Results Summary: (2019) 29.7% 9-7, 61.9% 9-5, 76.3% 9-4
