The Inclusion Room is run by Helen Richardson, our Inclusion Officer. In Inclusion we support students who are struggling in the classroom. This may be because of poor behaviour or if they are emotionally or socially vulnerable.
In Inclusion, the students will be given strategies and support to help them and to get them back into mainstream lessons and achieve their potential.
Internal Exclusion is a serious sanction for poor behaviour. It is an alternative to fixed term exclusion from school. The student will be supervised in a room with booths where they will be isolated from the rest of the school community for a fixed period. They will be expected to complete all the work set by their subject teachers for their timetabled lessons. They will be in Inclusion for break and lunch breaks.
Parents will be informed and they will be expected to attend a reintegration meeting before students will be allowed to return to lessons.
