Manor CE Academy has a daily act of worship for all students including assemblies, Eucharist services, form collective worship, form prayers and times of musical worship.
There is a staff prayer meeting every Thursday before school when we meet to pray for our Academy and the wider community. We also have a pastoral chaplaincy team to support our students further as they explore their faith. In addition to staff-led activities, a number of our students meet together regularly to worship God.
Our three values of serving others, growing together and living life to the full are at the centre of everything we do and in our acts of worship, these are well and truly put into practice.
We also have a student Worship Band Ministry called W1 which serves our school community by leading times of musical worship and often visits churches in York to provide worship and testimony. In the past, members of W1 have travelled to Georgia and Alabama where they lived out our values and served God in a variety of different communities. They also shared their experiences of leading worship so far, and how serving God at Manor has had a positive effect on their own lives.
The Worship@Manor team produces a weekly collective worship film for our online video channel at www.vimeo.com/manorworship. These films support our worship and Bible understanding. They are used in other schools across our region and in the last 12 months, the video channel has had an audience of over 7,000 people in 35 countries around the world.
RT @ManorTaize The morning service today saw us we the bread and wine blessed as we celebrated Eucharist. We also heard the Archbishop speak in church. He challenged us to consider how much God loves us. pic.twitter.com/6nuk…
